A big question with the disastrous tied visa introduced by the Coalition government in April 2012 is why was it introduced in the first place?

 

In a full page article in yesterday's print edition of The Guardian, also published online as an "Editor's Highlight," alongside interviews with abused domestic workers, and another article comparing domestic workers situations across the world, commentators asked whether the rules had been introduced to satisfy high net worth individuals from the Gulf countries.
