"I want to grow in knowledge and confidence, to speak my truth without fear. My dream is to turn struggle into strength, and become a light for others — a voice for those still unheard. Because when one of us rises, we all rise."
Biography
My name is Danalyn, and I am 31 years old. I was born and raised in the quiet province of Pangasinan, Philippines — a place where life was simple but not always easy. After finishing high school, I dreamed of going to college. To make that dream possible, I worked as a housekeeper in exchange for school fees. I gave it my all, but despite my best efforts, I wasn’t able to finish my degree. It was a painful moment, but I knew I couldn’t give up.
Determined to build a better life, I moved to Manila in search of opportunities. There, I worked wherever I could — as a supermarket cashier, a secretary, and a factory worker. I learned to adapt, to persevere, and to keep going, even when things were tough. Eventually, I found work as a nanny in the United Arab Emirates, where I spent six years caring for children far away from my own home and family.
Those years were filled with many challenges — long hours, loneliness, and the emotional toll of being far from loved ones. But through it all, I held onto who I am: a simple, hardworking, and independent woman. Someone who dreams quietly, but deeply.
One of the things that has always brought me comfort and joy is cooking. It's not just a skill — it’s a way I express love and creativity. And when I need to pour out my heart, I turn to writing Tagalog poems. Through poetry, I give voice to the thoughts and feelings I sometimes can’t say aloud. It’s my way of healing, connecting, and reminding myself that my voice matters.
Now, as I join the Future Voices Revolution 2025, I feel a new chapter unfolding in my life — one filled with hope, purpose, and strength. This programme is more than just an opportunity; it is a chance to finally be heard, to grow in confidence, and to learn how to use my voice not only for myself but for others like me.
I want to raise awareness, speak up for migrant domestic workers, and help make sure our struggles and our stories are never ignored. Through Future Voices Revolution, I hope to turn my quiet strength into something powerful — to become a voice of courage, a light for others, and a part of the change we all deserve.
Because every story matters — including mine.
