Biography
My name is Rowena, born in 1986 in Quezon City, Philippines. I was raised by my grandmother in Bulacan and, because of financial difficulties, I was unable to attend college. Despite this, I pursued vocational training in caregiving, barista skills, and food and beverage services while working hard as a student.
As a mother of three, I worked abroad as a domestic worker in Saudi Arabia, Oman, and Dubai to provide a better future for my children. Later, I moved to the UK, where I faced new challenges but also found new opportunities.
With the support of VODW, I was able to overcome difficulties and rebuild my life. Today, I am grateful for my new beginning in the UK, where I live with my son and partner.
My journey has taught me the importance of faith, perseverance and courage. I continue to grow, overcome challenges, and strive to become the best version of myself.
I am joining Future Voices Revolution 2 to enhance myself, to face my fear in speaking to the public, to add knowledge with the things I still don’t know yet and to experience furthermore what I deserve.
Hafidah
I choose to keep learning, growing, and becoming stronger through everything life brings. I choose courage to speak up, stand for myself, and use my experiences to help others who may be going through difficult times. I believe that no matter where we come from, we all deserve a chance to hope, grow, and build a better life.
