Biography
My name is Aiza, born in Zamboanga del Norte. I grew up in deep hardship, working from childhood just to finish school. Through sheer determination - from housekeeping to selling food - I earned my degree in Hotel and Restaurant Management while supporting my parents and siblings.
As a young woman, I built my own family, but violence forced me to flee to protect myself and my son. I left the Philippines so he could have the future he deserves. He should never carry the weight of adults’ mistakes. He is my strength, my hope, and the reason I endure every sacrifice. Even from afar, I pray he feels how fiercely I love him.
My journey as a domestic worker has been long and difficult, but it fuels my commitment to fight for justice. I joined the Future Voices Revolution because domestic workers deserve rights, protection, and dignity. Our labour sustains families and allows parents to work - yet we remain unprotected.
I will use my voice to stand against abuse, demand fair policies in the UK, and help restore the rights stolen from migrant domestic workers. My domestic work provides for my son, my parents, and my siblings - and my advocacy is for every domestic worker who dreams of a safer, fairer life.
