Finding Belonging and Growth with VODW

I am truly grateful for having this kind of class, because through it, I am learning how to create things that are completely new to me. As a newcomer in this community, every lesson feels like a door opening—an opportunity not just to learn skills, but also to discover more about myself, my strengths, and my potential.

My journey with The Voice of Domestic Workers (VODW) has been filled with excitement and joy, especially as I step into this new chapter as a member. Every session gives me something meaningful: knowledge that empowers me, guidance that reassures me, and encouragement that makes me believe in myself a little more each day. I am especially thankful to our IT teacher, whose patience and dedication make learning less intimidating and more inspiring. It takes someone with true passion to teach, and I am blessed to be learning under such guidance.

Being part of this class is more than just gaining knowledge—it is about personal growth. Every time I learn something new, I feel myself changing in small but powerful ways. I am slowly building confidence, not only in my skills, but also in the way I see myself as a learner, as a worker, and as a person capable of creating a brighter future.

VODW has given us something truly powerful: the ability to help ourselves by sharing our thoughts, our stories, and our ideas. In this community, I am reminded that growth does not happen in isolation—it flourishes when people come together to support one another. Here, we are not only taught skills; we are given confidence, a voice, and the courage to embrace new challenges with hope instead of fear.

Thank you, VODW, for being more than just an organisation. You are a family, one that embraces everyone with open arms. I have found in you a second home away from home, a place where I feel accepted, seen, and valued. You have shown me that even though I am far from my own family, I can still belong to something that feels just as real, just as loving, and just as strong.

I am happy, proud, and deeply honored to be part of this beautiful community. As I continue this journey, I look forward to growing alongside all of you—with more learning, more support, and more gratitude in my heart.
