My New Year Wish for All Domestic Workers By Rolyn

As I welcome 2026, my heart carries a quiet but powerful wish. I wish for a year filled with happiness, meaningful opportunities, and good health, not only for myself, but for my family, my friends, and my fellow domestic workers who continue to give so much of themselves every single day.

The new year always feels like a pause, a moment to breathe and reflect. It reminds me of the many journeys we are all walking. Some filled with joy, others marked by sacrifice, longing, and perseverance. For many of us, especially domestic workers far from home, each year is not just a calendar change but another chapter of endurance, hope, and love for the people we work so hard for.

I believe deeply that to move forward, we need three things: strength, faith, and trust. Strength to rise each morning even when we feel tired in our hearts. Faith to believe that our sacrifices are not in vain, even when the road feels uncertain. And trust, trust in ourselves, in our journey, and in the belief that better days are ahead. Without these, it becomes difficult to continue, to dream, and to reach the goals we hold so close.

But we cannot walk this path alone. We need to help one another, to lift each other up without resentment or hard feelings. When one of us feels weak, another can offer encouragement. When someone stumbles, compassion can help them stand again. True success is not achieved by leaving others behind, but by supporting one another so that no one is left feeling invisible or defeated.

As the new year begins, I hope every heart is filled with hope, peace, and excitement. May 2026 be a year of healing, kindness, and renewed strength. May we find reasons to smile, moments to be grateful for, and courage to keep going together. Happy New Year to all. May this year bring light to every home, and hope to every journey.
