A Letter to My Family this 2026 By Katy

My deepest prayer for you, my children, is simple but powerful, that you learn to love one another and always respect your father. I know there are moments when it is not easy to understand your Papa. There are days when misunderstandings happen, when patience feels hard to find, and when emotions run deep. But I hope you remember that respect and love are choices we make every day, even when it is difficult. For me, and for all of us as a family, nothing matters more than seeing you stand by one another with kindness, patience, and unity.
Love each other deeply. Be patient with one another’s flaws. Learn how to forgive, how to listen, and how to meet each other halfway. Life will not always be gentle, but if you face it together, with open hearts and helping hands, you will always be stronger.
Even if I am far away from you, even if distance separates us physically, my heart is always with you. As long as I know that you are doing well, that you are safe, and that you are loving one another, my heart is at peace. No matter how heavy my work is here, no matter how tired I become, I will endure it all. Every sacrifice is worth it when I know you are growing up with love in your hearts and respect for one another.
Seeing you help each other, support one another, and treat each other with respect gives me more happiness than words can explain. That alone is enough to give meaning to all my struggles. So my wish for this year and for every year that comes is this, Love one another without conditions. Give generously, even when you have little. Support each other, especially during the hard times.
Never forget to thank our Lord Jesus for all the blessings we receive, both big and small. Choose happiness, even in simple moments. Stay humble no matter how far you go in life. And always, always remember to call your Lola. Do not forget her, she loves you more than you can imagine.
Even if your parents are no longer here in the way you wish they could be, your Lola is still there, holding you close with her prayers and her love. My mother-in-law loves you deeply, my children, and she carries you in her heart every single day. This is my prayer, my hope, and my promise to keep loving you, no matter the distance, no matter the sacrifice.
