A New Year Letter to My Family. Missing Home, Holding on to Love By Lorena

ree

To My Family, Always

As this year comes to a close, my heart feels heavier and fuller at the same time. Heavier because of the distance between us, and fuller because of the love that continues to connect us no matter how far apart we are. As the days grow quieter and the year draws to an end, I find myself thinking of you more than ever.

I miss the little moments. The ones that seemed ordinary back then but now mean everything to me. I miss the laughter around our table, the shared meals, the stories told between bites, and the comfortable silence that only family can share. I even miss the small annoyances, the playful arguments, and the everyday routines that once felt simple. Looking back, I realize how those moments quietly shaped my happiness and made life warmer and more meaningful.

What I miss the most is waking up to your smiles, hearing your voices in the morning, and feeling the comfort of knowing we were together under one roof. There is a special kind of peace that comes from being surrounded by family, and it is something I carry with me wherever I go. Even though I am far away, you are always close to my heart. Every day, I count the moments until we can hug again, laugh without a screen between us, and create new memories side by side.

Distance has taught me the true value of family. It has shown me how deeply rooted our love is, how strong our bond remains, and how even the smallest shared moments can bring the greatest comfort. No matter where life takes us, I know that our connection will never fade. It stretches across miles, time zones, and seasons, held together by love, prayers, and hope.

As we step into the New Year, my wish for us is simple yet profound. I hope for good health, peace in our hearts, and countless joyful moments, whether together or apart that will continue to strengthen our bond. May the coming year bring us closer, remind us of how much we mean to one another, and lead us back to the warmth of home. Until then, please know that every step I take is guided by love for you. I carry you with me in every prayer, every dream, and every hope for the future.

Forever yours,Lorena
