MediaCom - Creating Our Voice Through Graphics and Videos

WATCH NOW

Every Wednesday at 9:00 PM on Zoom, domestic workers come together for MediaCom, a creative space where we learn how to design graphics, create videos, and develop digital content for the Voice of Domestic Workers (VODW) campaign.

In MediaCom, we don't just learn how to use technology. We learn how to use our creativity to share important messages and tell our own stories. From creating social media graphics to making campaign videos, every activity gives us an opportunity to make the voices of domestic workers more visible and heard.

This is our story. This is our creativity. This is our voice.

The Voice of Domestic Workers

The Voice of Domestic Workers (VODW) is a community created to bring domestic workers together to learn, connect, share experiences, and develop new skills. Domestic workers play an essential role in our families and communities. We care for children, support families, clean homes, prepare meals, and provide many forms of care that help communities function every day.

Much of this work happens behind closed doors, which is why it is important that domestic workers have opportunities to speak, share their experiences, and tell their own stories.

Domestic work is essential work, and domestic workers deserve to be seen, heard, valued, and respected.

The Space We Share

If you are a domestic worker, join us in The Space We Share.

It is a place where we can learn together, meet other domestic workers, share ideas, build confidence, and discover new opportunities. You don't need to be an expert or have special skills. Our classes are about learning together and supporting one another.

VODW offers different classes for different interests and needs. Our ESOL/English classes help domestic workers improve their English and become more confident communicating. Our Computer/IT classes help participants develop useful digital and technology skills. Body and Mind Wellness provides a space to focus on our wellbeing, while Financial Literacy helps us develop a better understanding of money and financial matters.

Through Media and Communication, participants can explore creativity and learn how to create content that shares important messages. Drama gives us an opportunity to express ourselves, build confidence, and tell stories, while Art provides a creative space to explore ideas and express ourselves through creativity.

Every class is an opportunity to learn something new, meet someone new, and grow together.

Our Voice Matters

Sometimes we may think our everyday experiences are too ordinary to share. But our stories are important. Our experiences as domestic workers are part of the wider story of our communities.

Through VODW, we are creating opportunities for domestic workers to learn, connect, create, and speak for themselves.

One voice can start a conversation. Many voices can create change.

So, if you are a domestic worker, come and be part of The Space We Share.

Join a class. Learn a new skill. Share your story. Meet other domestic workers. Find your creativity. And most importantly, know that your voice matters.

The Voice of Domestic Workers

Our Work. Our Voice. Our Community.

Domestic Work Is Essential Work.
