The Voice of Domestic Workers Hosts Spectacular Pageant Celebrating International Women's Day and Mother's Day



On March 10, 2024, The Voice of Domestic Workers (VODW) lit up London with a dazzling pageant in honour of International Women's Day and Mother's Day. Now in its third iteration, the event crowned Ms. The Voice of Domestic Workers, showcasing the remarkable beauty, talent, and voices of migrant domestic workers.


The pageant transcended conventional beauty standards, emphasizing the strength, resilience, and narratives of these unsung heroes. Each participant embodied the multifaceted capabilities of migrant domestic workers, highlighting their contributions beyond their daily tasks.



 

Joining the pageant was a life-changing experience for me. The overwhelming support from my fellow domestic workers filled me with gratitude and courage. Taking on the role of spokesperson in front of a large audience was unforgettable, and I'm proud to have inspired and educated others. It's amazing to see how this event brings us closer together, showcasing our talents and breaking stereotypes about domestic workers. I encourage others to seize the opportunity to participate and grow with us.
