A Heartfelt New Year Wish to Domestic Workers. Courage, Faith, and Recognition By Sarah

As the new year begins, my heart turns to all my fellow domestic workers, those who have left home, crossed borders, and faced challenges we sometimes cannot put into words. To all of you, my deepest wish for 2026 is simple but heartfelt: stay strong, stay hopeful, and stay faithful to God.

We may all have different stories, different journeys, and different reasons for being where we are. Some of us left to provide for our families, some to chase dreams we’ve long held in our hearts, and some to simply survive. But no matter our reasons, I wish that each of us receives the best that life can offer. The dignity, respect, and blessings we deserve.

I hope that this year brings us kindness and compassion in the hands of those we serve. I pray that every employer sees us not just as workers, but as human beings, with hearts, dreams, and families of our own. May we be treated with the respect we deserve, and may our labor be valued, appreciated, and honored.

Let us remember that we are never truly alone. Even though we are far from home, we can find strength in each other, in shared stories, and in the hope that tomorrow will be brighter. Together, we can face the long hours, the homesickness, and the challenges that life throws at us. Our faith, resilience, and courage are greater than the obstacles we face.

This new year, let us continue to lift each other up. A kind word, a listening ear, or a small act of support can make someone’s day lighter. And most of all, let us hold onto hope and faith because with God by our side, and with each other as our community, there is nothing we cannot overcome.

To all domestic workers around the world: may this year bring you strength, peace, blessings, and the recognition you truly deserve. Stay strong, stay faithful, and never forget your worth.
