A New Year Letter to My Younger Self By Ola

Dear my younger self,
I know you are standing at the edge of uncertainty right now, quietly wondering if you are strong enough for what lies ahead. You question your choices, your worth, and sometimes even your purpose. I want you to know this with all my heart: every single thing you are going through will one day shape you into someone stronger, wiser, and more compassionate than you can imagine.
The fear you feel today will teach you courage. The doubts that keep you awake at night will push you to discover your own strength. Even the mistakes you are so hard on yourself for will become lessons that guide you toward better decisions. Nothing you are experiencing is wasted. Every tear, every struggle, and every moment of uncertainty is quietly building the person you are becoming.
There will be days when you feel alone, when it seems like the world is moving forward while you are stuck in place. On those days, please remember to be gentle with yourself. Growth does not always look like progress. Sometimes, growth is simply surviving, showing up, and choosing to keep going even when your heart feels tired.
As you move forward, I want you to believe in yourself more than you ever have. You are capable of so much more than you think. Even when your voice shakes, even when fear whispers that you are not enough, keep going. Be patient with your journey. Life is not a race, and your path does not have to look like anyone else’s. Trust that the delays, the detours, and the waiting are all preparing you for something greater.
This New Year, I hope you hold tightly to your courage, especially when you feel afraid. Never let go of your kindness, even when the world feels unkind. Protect your dreams, no matter how small or fragile they seem right now. They matter. You matter.
One day, you will look back at this version of yourself with tears in your eyes and pride in your heart. You will thank yourself for staying strong, for choosing hope over fear, and for never giving up even when giving up felt easier.
Keep going, my younger self. The future is waiting for you, and it is brighter than you dare to believe.
